Rust City Book Con 2017

Hello from author Marie Piper

Hello! I’m looking forward to attending Rust City Book Con 2017 – I had a great time attending last year, and met so many lovely authors and readers, I’m looking forward to doing it again.

Also, I’m a native of Michigan (I grew up on the shore of Lake Huron) and though I live in Chicago (on the shore of Lake Michigan) now it always makes me happy to return to the Mitten State. Here’s hoping I can grab some Tim Hortons or Biggby Coffee on my trip!

I love history, particularly American History, so that’s what I write. Nothing makes me happier than falling into a place and time in history and spinning a story (or several) there. I’ve always loved westerns, so that’s been my focus. My FIRES OF CRICKET BEND series is a western historical romance trilogy set in Texas in the 1880s, and MAIDENS & MONSTERS is a gothic western romance serial featuring adaptations of classics like DRACULA and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA set in a small Kansas town at the turn of the century. I’m currently at work on a brand-new series, set in the Dakota territory when the area was just on the brink of statehood…  and someday I swear I will finally write the sexy Salem Witches book that I’ve been thinking about forever!

In addition to writing, I read just about everything, host a monthly romance book club, drink tons of coffee, am obsessed with Game of Thrones, and love to go on adventures with my family and friends.

Come and say hi to me at Rust City Book Con 2017, or on Twitter (@mariepiperbooks) in the meantime!
